art classes!

from ‘camp creative’ to The Bemis School of Art and beyond, I have been teaching art since 2016!

No matter what medium we are working in, a main focus of my classes is always loosening up your art practice and taking time to slow down and explore new mediums. Anyone can create art, and my classes are a great place to start!

Creating space for creativity and exploration through community art!

Examples of Student Work

  • Daily Drawing - for beginners!

My “Drawing from Life: Develop a Daily Sketchbook” class is designed to bring beginners into the world of sketching from life and develop their ability to draw from observation. This class emphasizes drawing from things around you and using three-dimensional references as opposed to drawing from a pre-existing photograph in order to develop your observational drawing muscles.

I offer this class as a way to get more in touch with the world around you and develop a practice of noticing.

In this class, I underscore the goal of reducing perfectionism and bringing art into our everyday lives and habits.

  • Community Creative Practice

“Start Your Week With Creative Practice” is my favorite Monday ritual. This class, typically held on a Monday morning, consists of a new activity and new mediums to explore each week and is designed to center creative practice as an important priority and serve to loosen yourself up in order to explore more within your other practices. Whether this is your only form of creative practice in the week, or you are a full-time working artist, this class is the right space for you! Come weekly to build community, artistic routine, and to meet likeminded people!

  • Hands-On Activities

I am passionate about being involved in my local communities and helping to make events as fun and fulfilling for all involved! I also love to bring interactive activities and art workshops to events!

  • Community Mural Painting

I plan and host interactive community mural painting events!

  • Queer Art Club

Founder and organizer of accessible free community art club for the queer community and allies in Colorado Springs!

  • Camp Creative

Whether it’s spring break or summertime, Camp Creative is a great way to get a group of friends together and explore a new art medium! I work with private groups to put on single or multi-day art activities. From exploring tie-dye and embroidery to playing with glitter and practicing our painting skills, kids of all ages love Camp Creative!
